Kenny Ray Holt, 61, a lifelong resident of Corinth, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Magnolia Regional Health Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Corinth, MS on May 23, 1956 to the late Jack and Fleta Farris Holt and graduated from Corinth High School in 1974. At an early age, Kenny became a Christian at Tate Street Baptist Church, where he was a member. Kenny earned BS degrees in English, Biology, Chemistry, Accounting, and Business Administration as well as his MBA from the University of Mississippi. Kenny was fiercely loyal to his alma mater and took every opportunity to discuss the stats of any player that might be mentioned. Kenny retired as Director of Northeast Mississippi Small Business Development Center in 2003. During his time there, he helped small business launch, grow, and succeed. Lovingly known as “the smartest man in the world” to his nieces and nephews, Kenny was never too busy or too serious for a joke, a smile, or a story. His encouragement, not limited to the businesses he worked with, propelled his family to greater and higher things. Kenny was a man of deep knowledge, but of deeper love. His mind ran, his heart leaped, and his soul soared. Kenny is now in a place where his body can catch up to the rest of him. We are confident that Kenny is not just resting in peace. He is flying like a “Rebel” through heaven, trying to find someone who’s been keeping up with politics or sports to strike up a conversation with. Visitation is scheduled for 12-2 pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Kenny's life will be held at 2 pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Dennis Smith. Interment will follow in Henry Cemetery. Kenny’s nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Kenny's memory include his sisters: Jill Holt Mauney of Corinth, MS and Penny Holt Hinton and husband Terry of Asheville, NC; his brother: Demmy Holt and wife Jackie of Corinth, MS; two nieces: Elizabeth Hinton and Hannah Holt; three nephews: Holt Hinton, Jake Hinton, and Sam Holt; a great niece: Della; other relatives and a host of friends.
