KENNETH ONEIL SPOON
November 27, 1939---October 14, 2015
Mr. Kenneth Oneil Spoon passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2015, at Carrington House in Iuka, MS. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2015, from 5:00 pm—8:00 pm at Burnsville Tabernacle, and Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 11:00 am until service time at Burnsville Tabernacle. The service will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Burnsville Tabernacle with burial at Burnsville City Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Bro. Mitch McNeese and Bro. Sheldon Lambert. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth was a dedicated member of Burnsville Tabernacle Church. He has served as Sunday School Teacher; song leader, and Deacon. He spent many hours maintaining the church. Kenneth enjoyed spending time in his shop working on cars and tractors. He was employed at Wurlitzer for 29 years and SDI for 20 plus years. He loved spending time with his family and church.
Survivors include two sons: Michael Oniel Spoon and wife Carol of Cairo, MS; and David Spoon and wife Genia of Burnsville, MS; three grandsons: Charles Spoon, Christopher Oniel Spoon and wife Coral of Cairo, MS;
and Jonathan Haley of Corinth, MS; four great-grandchildren: Chassi Dawn Spoon of Cairo, MS; Brayden and Bethany Haley of Burnsville, MS and Shelby Haley of Corinth, MS; one sister: Hester Newcomb of Burnsville, MS; several nieces, nephews, and his wife of 23 years, Juanita Spoon, her children; Jamie Sample, Freddie Chase of Burnsville, MS, Melvin Chase of Louisville, MS, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by the mother of his sons and wife of 28 years, Peggy Spoon; parents, John and Doskie Spoon; three sisters, Elease Epperson, Virginia Newcomb, and Imogene Thrasher; one brother, Clifford Spoon, and Juanita’s sons, Eddie and Marshall Chase.
Pallbearers are Christopher Spoon, Charles Spoon, Charles Benick, Chester Newcomb, Justin Trickey, and Richie Wilmeth. Honorary Pallbearers are Harvey Pendergrast, Jackie Thrasher, Jeff Rickman, Jerrel Keele, Junior Bullard, Ronnie Thrasher, Tommy Spoon, Truman South, and Tommy Wright.
