Sandra Kay Settlemires, 67, of Walnut, MS passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born in Alcorn Co., MS on September 22, 1949 to the late David Henry and Eula Wilburn Thompson and graduated from Kossuth High School in 1968. Kay was a member of Gospel Tabernacle and retired after 30 years as a teacher at Kossuth Elementary School. Visitation is scheduled for 5-9 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2016 and from Noon till service time Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. A celebration of Kay's life will be held at 2 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Trent Nethery, Rev. Floyd Lamb and Rev. Josh Hodum. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers include Corey Settlemires, Craig Settlemires, Christopher Settlemires, Roger Settlemires, Wendell Nelson, James "Dude" Moore, Jimmy Henderson, and Jerry Henderson. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Kay's memory include her husband of 40 years: Kenneth Leon Settlemires of Walnut, MS; her son: David Settlemires and wife Shelly of Selmer, TN; her granddaughters: Molly Settlemires and Kaeleigh Settlemires; her sister: Kathy Thompson; other relatives and many friends.
