Our beloved infant daughter, Karsyn Reese Elam, went to soar with the angels on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Little Karsyn was born December 3, 2018 in Savannah, TN to Kennedy and Bradley Elam. If Karsyn had had her way always, she would have never been set down. Her time would have been spent entirely in the arms of people who loved her, being talked to by her wise older sister, whom she was sure knew everything that was worth knowing. She took great joy in her meals, reveling in them with a happiness the richest person on earth has forgotten. Karsyn had learned to express her contentment with smiles, and rewarded us with them when we paid her what she felt was a proper amount of attention. Though we mourn for the days Karsyn was denied, weep for the happiness she couldn’t yet know, we are comforted that she is now in a place where her smile will never fade, where she need never be silent, and where she will always be held. If every word Christ spoke on earth is as true today as it was when he said it, then heaven is not just made of mansions and golden streets. In a foursquare city Jesus runs, there is a corner filled with swings and bottles where He explains that while He is not quite as good as Karsyn’s older sister, he’s had quite a bit of practice being an older brother and he’ll fill in for now. We know it’s true because he said it himself. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” During her few short months on Earth, Karsyn had touched many lives and was loved deeply by her mom and dad: Kennedy and Bradley Elam; her big sister: Harmon Ann Elam; her grandparents: PopPop, BooBoo, PawPaw, CiCi, Mamaw Alisha, Paw Terry; her great-grandparents: Momaw and Pop and MeMe and Granddaddy; her cousins: Bubba, JagJag, Aurora and Baby Girl Moss; her aunts: Sissy, PePe and Audrie; her uncles: Thomas, Shaden and Jacob; her close family friends: T.T. and Ms. Faye; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation is scheduled from 1 pm till service time, Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of little Karsyn’s life will be held at 3 pm Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Terry Harmon II. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Hunter Bronson, Chase Gunn, Tyler Jernigan, Shaden Reesor, Austin Gafford and Jonathan Ford.
