June Oaks Vanderford, 81, of Corinth, MS passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Farmington, MS on June 3, 1935 to the late Frank and Jennie Doll Oaks and graduated from Farmington High School. June spent her life pouring from a heart as deep as the ocean she loved. She enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing and crappie fishing, and doting on her cats: Petunia and Buttercup. June loved the time spent with her coffee crew at Jack's in the mornings, and traveled extensively but always returned home to her greatest treasure, her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly her delight. The many places and people June touched will never be the same and her encouragement and love will be remembered by them in the years to come. A gathering of family and friends is scheduled for 6-8 pm Monday, October 24, 2016 and from 1 PM till service time Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of June's life will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Bro. James Voyles. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor June's memory include her son: Ronny Vanderford and wife Tracy of Michie, TN; her daughters: Connie Miller and husband Johnny of Michie, TN, Rebecca J. Thornton and fiancé Ronnie Collins of Gray Court, SC, and Vicki Vanderford of Corinth, MS; her grandchildren: Danna Andrews, Garrett Vanderford, Todd Mask, Casey Mask, Joshua Fowler, Brandi Nicole Matthews, Kevin Williams and Anna Kathryn Williams; six great-grandchildren; her brothers: Joe Oaks, Jack Oaks, Mack Oaks, Roy Oaks and Bobby Oaks; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years: Jessie L. Vanderford and her brothers: Pete Oaks, Lonnie Oaks, Dock Oaks and Jim Oaks.
