Funeral services for Joyce Bates, 84 of Corinth are set for Monday, February 22, 2021 at 2:00pm at Magnolia Funeral Home East Chapel. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 1:00pm at Anderson Bend Cemetery in Hickman, TN. Public visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 from 12:30pm -2:00pm at Magnolia Funeral Home East Chapel. Because of Covid 19, mask and social distancing will be required. Bro. Jimmie Bates will officiate the service, her sons, Jeff, Norman and Mike Mills will deliver the eulogy. Joyce was born March 30, 1936 in Houston, MO and passed from this life on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was a long-time member of Chester Community Church in Spokane Valley, WA. Joyce was a teacher and director of a preschool and daycare, in her later years, she became the owner of Abba Daycare and Preschool. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed singing. Joyce is survived by her husband 57 years, Jimmie Bates of Corinth, MS; sons, Jeff Mills and wife Sue of Everett, WA, Norman Mills of Las Vegas, NV, Mike Mills and wife Lynn of Cedar Rapids, IA and Dan Finley of Ronan, MT; daughters, Judy Mills of SeaTac, WA; Marlene Sproul and husband Ralph of Spokane Valley, WA; Monica Finley and husband George of Idaho; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Collins of Spokane Valley, WA; John Collins and wife Patty of Glen Ellyn, IL; sisters-in-law, Sara Marcelles of West Chester, IL; Barbara Richardson of Corinth, MS and Elizabeth “Lib” Antalek of West Chester, IL; other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Jessie Collins; mother, Ulna Allen Collins; brother, Jimmy Collins and sister, Joan Johnson.
