Joseph "Joe" Spencer Lawson passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at Magnolia Regional Health center at the age of 67.
Mr. Lawson was born December 6, 1943 in Acworth, GA to the late Joseph Spencer Lawson and the late Mary Alice Kuykendall Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a retired City of Corinth Firefighter and he also retired U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Lawson started with the Corinth Fire Department in 1967 before moving to Georgia, where he worked at the fire department there. When he moved back to Corinth, he started back to work at the City of Corinth Fire Department on February 16, 1975, he made LT in December 1988. He was made inspector in November of 1993 and retired in 1995.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife of 43 years: Rosa Lee Briggs Lawson – Corinth, MS
Sons: Keith Lawson and wife Laura – Corinth, MS; Ryan Lawson and wife Shelia - Rienzi
4 grandchildren: Cody Lawson, Brady Lawson, Jamie Lawson, Josh Weaver
1 Great Grandchild: Austin Wilbanks
His devoted guide dog and companion: Chevy
