John Easel Tucker, 99, of Longmont, CO, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at ACCEL of Longmont. He was born in Hardin County, TN on January 9, 1922 to the late George Hobert Tucker and Inas Mae (Carroll) Tucker. He married Marian Evelyne (Haley) Tucker on November 22, 1942 in Corinth, MS. They lived in Florida during World War II, where he was stationed in the US Army. They had two children, Judith Annette (Tucker) Hirschfeld and John Ronald Tucker. They came to Longmont, CO in 1944. John built the Longmont Church of Christ building and nearby minister’s home. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. John lived at Estes Park, CO for 32 years where he remodeled an existing log cabin into the Estes Park Church of Christ on Fish Creek Road. He leased and operated the Lake Estes Boat Marina for several years and did a photoshoot for the cover of “Field and Stream” magazine in the 70’s. He lived at Shiloh Ridge Golf Course near Corinth in later years and enjoyed boat fishing with his older brother, Eldridge, at Pickwick Lake, TN. John was a World War II Veteran, outdoorsman, sportsman and custom home builder in Longmont, Boulder, and Estes Park. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Interment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. Magnolia Funeral Home - South is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor John’s memory include his daughter, Judith Annette (Tucker) Hirschfeld of Longmont, Co; his son, John Ronald Tucker of Bay Breeze, FL; his sisters, Verdie Marie Barnes of Corinth, MS and Elsie Lee Donelson of Sweetwater, TX; his grandchildren, Ed Hirschfeld (Mikki) of Oak Harbor, WA, Sherri Stratton (Gary) of Longmont, CO, Loren Hirschfeld (Phuong) of Lincoln, NE, Stacie Donovan (Ron) of Carroll, OH, Jon Tucker (Candi) of Bay Breeze, FL, Kim Doddato (Michael) of Harriman, TN; his great grandchildren, Christina Zimmerman, Lisa Hill, Emma and Mai Hirschfeld, Greg and Brian Lewis, Kayla Anthony, Cody and Jaxson Tucker, Savannah and Bethany Murray, Ron, Riley, and Renee Blankenship; his great-great grandchildren, Ryan and Colton Zimmerman, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Ogle; his brothers, O’Neal, Eldridge, and Everett Tucker; and his son-in-law, Edward Leo Hirschfeld.
