Funeral services for John Colonel Green have been set for Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11am at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Military Honors. Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at Magnolia Funeral Home. Born August 5, 1937, Mr. Green was a self employed plumber/electrician , who also worked at ITT and Roy's Coin-op Laundry and was of the Methodist faith. John was liked by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed by many. He was known by his fun loving, happy attitude in all situations. He was a giver. He gave to anyone, at anytime and at any place. He loved helping others. His moral compass is unmatched. He believed in, supported without question-- continually. He was a very accomplished plumber and electrician until the time of his death. He worked all over the tri-state area. His career started in the military where he was one of a few elite mechanics of his unit.
Mr. Green is survived by his sons, Brian Green and wife Mitzi of Southaven, MS and Jason Green of Corinth; his daughter, Lena Green Burnett and husband Phil of Tupelo, MS; 3 grandchildren, Lindsey Green Dugger and husband Jeremey, Cody Burnett and wife Kathleen and Luke Burnett; 3 brothers, Larry Green of Booneville, Glen Green and wife Joyce of Jumpertown and Bruce Green and wife Lisa of Jumpertown; a sister, Connie Cole of Booneville, MS; a brother-in-law, Gearry Wren of Corinth; 2 sisters-in-law, Pam Green of Seattle, WA and Jelena Austin of Rienzi and other relatives and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Green; mother, Olive Storey Green; 2 brothers, Dale Green and Gaylon Green; a sister, Kay Smith and the mother of his children, Elaine Wren Green.
