John Edward Cummings

A graveside service for John Edward Cummings, 78 of Corinth, MS, will be Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 2:30 P M at Magnolia Gardens. Bro. Rabon Richardson will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 6:00 P M to 9:00 P M at Union Baptist Church. Mr. Cummings passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020 at his residence in Corinth, MS. He was born September 29, 1941 in Corinth, MS to Johnnie B. Cummings and Mary Ethel Ashcraft Cummings. He retired as a shader for Intex/Southbridge and was a member of Union Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching westerns, doing yard work and bird watching. John is survived by his daughter, Susie Cummings of Corinth, MS; one grandson, Paris Thomas (Brittany): two great grandchildren, Emily Thomas and Nevaeh Stone; his brothers, Gene Cummings (Shirley) of TN, Henry Cummings (Debbie) of TN, Onnie Cummings of Corinth, MS and Lonnie Cummings (Janice) of Corinth, MS; his sisters, Mary Sanders of Corinth, MS and Judy Bradley (Randy) of TN; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Cummings; one grandchild, Whitney Thomas; his father, Johnnie B. Cummings; his mother, Mary Ethel Ashcraft Cummings; his brothers, James Cummings and Alonzo Cummings and his sisters, Emma Jean Cornelius, Minnie Bradley and Ruby Wilbanks. Pallbearers will be Paris Thomas, Terry Cummings, William Martin, Doug Sanders, Terence Smith and Jackie "Cubby" Malone.
