Joella Loyd Martin

Joella Loyd Martin, 75 of Corinth, MS, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.  No services are planned, as per her wishes.  Ms Martin was born January 31, 1948 in Corinth, MS to Lewis David Loyd and Beulah Mae Jolly Loyd.  She graduated from Corinth High School in 1966 and attended Northeast MS Junior College and MS State University.  She was a bookkeeper at the Daily Corinthian for 30 years and a member of Church of the Crossroads.  Joella was an avid animal lover and Atlanta Braves and MS State fan.  She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, making words, spending time with her family, including her grand-dog Bessie.  Joella is survived by her daughter, Leslie Martin Cantrell and husband Shane; her sister, Delois Gates and husband Tony; her sister-in-law, Loretta Edmondson; other relatives and a host of friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis David Loyd and her mother, Beulah Jolly Loyd.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Joella Loyd Martin.
