Marilyn Joann Prince, 84, of Cordova, TN passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Tishomingo County, MS on April 25, 1935 to the late Owen and Lucille Worley Jourdan and graduated from Holcut High School in 1953. Joann was a member of Kirby Wood Baptist Church and worked at various jobs, from the FBI to Victoria’s Secret, but she loved being a homemaker and a mom the best. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and canning fruits and vegetables. She especially loved music and reading her Bible. Joann will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 10:30 am till service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Joann’s life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by The Rev. Dr. Matthew Brewer. Pallbearers include Kenny Slack, Tyler Slack, Bruce Prince, David Stutts, Conor Baker, and Colin Mays. Interment will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Joann’s memory include her daughters: Julie Prince Slack and husband Kenny of Draffenville, KY and Jennifer Prince Brewer and husband Matthew of Cordova, TN; her son: Joel Thomas Prince and wife Margie of Counce, TN; her grandchildren: Tricia Slack Baker (Conor), Bruce Thomas Prince (David), Jordan Louis Prince (Evi) and James Tyler Slack; her great granddaughter: Addison Grace Baker; her brother: Odell Jourdan and wife Brenda of Booneville, MS; her sister: Kathy Taylor of Tupelo, MS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years: J.T. Prince; her parents; her brothers: Ronnie Jourdan and Donald Ray Jourdan; and her sisters: Bobbie Merrill and Mary Sue Jourdan.
