Joan Stephens

A Graveside Service for Joan Stephens, 81 of Corinth, MS, will be Sunday, January 3, 2020 at 2:00 P M at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Tracy Quillian will officiate the service. Mrs. Stephens passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at her residence. She was born April 15, 1939 in Thacker, WV to Dewey Hatfield and Bertha Jessie Hatfield. She retired as a factory worker for ITT in Chicago, IL. She loved working in her flower garden, collecting glassware and antiques. She loved spending time with her family. Joan is survived by her sister, Faye Allen and husband David of Corinth, MS; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie Pennington and Christopher Pennington; special nephew, Kevin Switcher and wife Sonya of Corinth, MS; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Hatfield of West Virginia; numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Oliver Stephens; her lst husband, Edwin Pennington; her sons, Ronald Pennington and Dewayne Pennington; her grandson, Wayne Pennington; her brothers, James Hatfield (Dolly), Donald Hatfield (Sharon), Elmer Hatfield and Denver Hatfield and her sister, Leona Mounts (Jim). Pallbearers will be David Allen, Kevin Switcher, Noah Haley, Blake Allen, Jake Allen, Slater Allen and Hunter Switcher. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Legion- Corinth Chapter. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Joan Stephens.
