Jimmy Purvis, 91 of Corinth, MS passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. No service is planned at this time. He was born February 3, 1929 in Corinth, MS to Robert C. Purvis and Leita Butler Purvis. He was a forman for Corinth Machinery for many years and was a member of Northside Church of Christ. During his time at Corinth Machinery some of his inventions were patented. After he retired, he and his brother Bobby owned Corinth Machine Shop. He enjoyed gardening, working in his shop and visiting with his friends, especially Charles Lee Dobbins and Warren Williams. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie Purvis of Corinth, MS; his daughters, Tina Reddell (Keith) of Corinth, MS; Teresa Hodum (Rick Mercer) of Guys, TN; 3 grandchildren, Kayla Latch (Josh) of Corinth, MS, Whitney Reddell of Tupelo, MS, and Brittani Hodum of Texarkana, TN; 1 great grandson, T.J. Dotson of Texarkana, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Purvis; his mother, Leita Butler Purvis; his brothers, Bobby Purvis, Jack Purvis and Tommy Purvis; his sisters, Mildred Wood and Janice Mills.
