Bro. Jimmy L. Lancaster, 74, of Corinth, MS passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Corinth, MS on June 24, 1946 to the late Buford and Carrie Lancaster. A very loving father and husband, Bro. Jimmy spent his life in service to others. He surrendered to preach in 1979, graduated from seminary at Oxford Baptist Institute in Oxford, MS and began serving area churches in 1981. He loved his horses, and his dog, Sasha but his greatest passion was the 36 years he was privileged to preach the gospel. Bro. Jimmy will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Friday, October 9, 2020 and from 10 am till service time on Saturday October 10, 2020 at Glendale Baptist Church. Masks are recommended and social distancing is required. A Celebration of Bro. Jimmy’s life will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Glendale Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Paul Armstrong, Bro, Jim Philamlee and Bro. Jon Haimes. Pallbearers include Larry Lancaster, Jay Mitchell, Bruce Bean, Rodney Jeter, Daniel Ballard and Randy Wilbanks. Honorary pallbearers include Patrick Timbes, Jerry Lancaster III, Brian Sugg and Dan Wilbanks. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens. Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Jimmy’s memory include his wife of 53 years, Patricia “Pat” Lancaster of Corinth; his daughter, Heather Turner and husband Landon of Winn, ME; his sisters, Nellie Rubright of Horseshoe Bend, AR, Barbara Elam and husband Bob, Shirley McClamroch and husband Mike, and Hilda Mitchell and husband John all of Corinth; his brother, Jerry Lancaster Sr. of Rodeo, CA; his sister-in-law: Jamie Timbes and husband Mike of Corinth; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Carrie Lancaster; his brother, Lonnie Lancaster; and his nephew, Jerry Wayne Lancaster II.
