Funeral services with military honors for Jimmy
Wayne Deaton, 83, of Corinth are set for 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Corinth with burial in Booneville Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Deaton died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at VA Medical Center.
He was born September 22, 1930, in Thrasher to the late Clarence W. and Ernestine Hill Deaton. He was a retired CPA from Moore and Gray CPA Firm (now Nail-McKinney CPA Firm). He was a graduate of Thrasher High School, Northeast Junior College, and Arkansas State University. Mr. Deaton served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Corinth and the Bobby Moore Sunday School Class, who honored him as the Hometown Hero in September of 2013.
Survivors include, his daughters, Jeanie Bruce (Dr. Kenney) of Lakeland, Tennessee and Anita Bergeson (David) of Madison, AL; 4 Grandchildren, Crystal French of Madison, Alabama, Paul Bruce (Heather) of Ocala, Florida, Loren Long (Matt) of Birmingham, AL, and Stephen Bruce of Lakeland, TN, and 2 great-grandchildren, Damien French and Hampton Bruce: his sister, Sue Evans (Randy) of Hernando; other relatives and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Paul Bruce, Stephen Bruce, Matt Long and Tommy Stine. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bobby Moore Sunday School class of First Baptist Church.
Bro. Dennis Smith and Dr. Kenny Bruce will officiate.
