Jewel Vivian Churchwell, 87, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at her daughter's residence. She was born in Corinth, MS on January 20, 1929 to the late George and Ernestine Haynie Stevens and proudly graduated from Farmington High School in 1946. Jewel was a member of Harper Road Christian Church and retired after 30 years with ITT. As an avid gardener, she loved working in her yard and especially enjoyed raising her tomatoes. She passionately loved her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled from 5-7:30 PM Friday, February 12, 2016 and from 10 AM till service time Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Jewel's life will be held on Saturday, February 13 , 2016 at 11 AM at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Gerald Hadley, Sr. and eulogy by Tom Church. Interment will follow at Henry Cemetery. Pallbearers include Mike Waller, Greg Jones, Tom Church, Loyd Jones and Richard Montgomery. Magnolia Funeral Home is caring for the family. Those left to honor Jewel's memory include her daughter: Rhonda Jones and husband Loyd of Germantown, TN; her son: Ricky Churchwell and wife Pam of Clarksdale, MS; her granddaughter: Rebecca Church and husband Tom; three precious great-grandchildren: Alexis, Jackson and Nolan; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: Robert D. Churchwell Jr.; two brothers: W. A. Stevens and James Stevens; and four sisters: Reba Richardson, Edith Clement, Jane Stevens and Betty Evans.
