Jerry Lee Strickland

A Celebration of Life service for Jerry Lee Strickland, 85 of Ridgeland, MS, will be Saturday May 14, 2022 at 11:00 A M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow at Shiloh CP Church Cemetery with Military Honors.  Bro. Keith Fields will officiate the service with Brad Gilmore delivering the eulogy.  Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2022 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M and Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 10:00 A M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East.  Mr. Strickland passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS.  He was born September 16, 1936 in Corinth, MS to Henry Lee and Nell Messner Strickland.  He worked in sales and delivery for Albright Supply Co and was a member of Kossuth Baptist Church.  He served as a deacon of Tishomingo Chapel and Kossuth Baptist.  Jerry served for many as Alderman for the town of Kossuth.  He graduated from Engineer School of US Army at Fort Belvior, VA and served his country in the US Army for 3 years.  Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Talley Strickland; daughter, Mauri Welzien (Patrick); three  grandchildren, Britain Thompson (Dreyson), Brody Welzien and Brandon Welzien; brother, Roy Strickland (Patricia); sister, Paula Curtis (Charles): sister-in-law, Mildred Strickland; brother-in-law, Bobby Lindsey; niece, Kristi Franks (Chris Gates); several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Connie Hamm Strickland; parents, Henry Lee and Nell Messner Strickland; brothers, Charles Strickland and Harris Strickland (Wanda) and sister, Katherine Lindsey.  Pallbearers will be Kerry Fowler, Bryan Kelly, Jeff Strickland, David Talley, Randy Headrick and Chris Gates.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Jerry Lee Strickland.
