Jerry Thomas McEwen, 68, passed away late Wednesday December 21, 2016 at his residence in Corinth, MS. He was born January 14, 1948 in Corinth, MS to Thomas Ray “Buster” McEwen and Martha Jernigan McEwen of Glen MS. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, retired from the maintenance department at Magnolia Regional Health Center and a follower of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years: Dean McEwen of Corinth, MS; his mother: Martha McEwen, of Glen, MS; his daughter: Jeri Vanderford (Tommy), of Corinth, MS; his son: Wade Cornelius (Jennifer), of Knoxville, TN; his daughter: Lana McEwen (Will) of Lake Cormorant, MS; and his daughter: Audrey Kyle of Corinth, MS; five grandchildren: David Vanderford (Abby), Madison Graves (Cole), Trey Cornelius, MaKayla Cornelius and Zachary McEwen; two great-grandchildren: Deya Graves and Thomas James Vanderford; his brother: Brodie McEwen (Dimple) of Glen, MS; his sister: Tracy Johnson (Jimmy Bain) of Glen, MS; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Thomas Ray “Buster” McEwen and two sisters: Nella Lambert (Michael) and Wanda Strickland (Harris). George Lee, Robert Eberhardt, Charles Vaughn and Charlie Kerr will officiate. Pallbearers include David Vanderford, Cole Graves, Trey Cornelius, Zachary McEwen, Stewart McEwen, Stan Wilson and MaKayla Cornelius. Honorary pallbearers include Jerrod Johnson, Jay Thomas Lambert, Jerry Keen, Justin Fiveash, Larry Bullard, Brian Marshall, Randy Headrick and the Class of 1966 ACHS. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 26th from 5-8 PM and on Tuesday, December 27th from 10 AM till service time. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 27th at 11 AM at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in Corinth National Cemetery at 1 PM.
