A Celebration of Life Service for Jerry “Bull” Maness, 79 of Corinth, Ms, will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens with Military Honors. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Minister Brad Dillingham and Minister Lawrence Barr will officiate the service. Mr. Maness passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, MS. He was born August 10, 1945 in Corinth, MS to J.T. and Essie Choate Maness. He was a husband, father, brother, friend and a country boy through and through. He was a member of Strickland Church of Christ. In 1964 he married his high school sweetheart, the girl across the road, Doris Cornelius. a bond that lasted 60 years. Jerry was proud to serve his country in the US Army from 1966 to 1969, where he served in Vietnam. He became a father in June of 1967 to a tiny daughter, Pamela Annette (Pam). Jerry returned home to a 44 year career with Alcorn County Electric Power Association. He earned the nickname “Bull” early in his job, working his way up to Lineman and later Foreman of a great bunch of co-workers and lifelong friends. Jerry loved being outdoors playing as a child with his brothers and sisters. He enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. Being outdoors and hunting was a pastime. Jerry hunted, cleaned and sold golf balls by the thousands over the years. He also enjoyed bowling, and was an avid participant in the local bowling league most of his adult life. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Cornelius Maness; his daughter, Pam Maness; his sister, Carolyn Maricle (James O.); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J.T. Maness; his mother, Essie Choate Maness; his brothers, Thomas Ray Maness and Donald Barry Maness and his sister, Elaine Strickland. Pallbearers will be Anthony “AMP” Marshall, Scotty Mills, Todd Hajek, Shane Taylor, Don Arnold and Nathan Hodges. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Jerry “Bull” Maness.
