Jerold, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on January 11, 2025, just days shy of his 80th birthday. Born on January 20, 1945 in Rienzi, MS, Jerold’s life was marked by dedication, humor, and a profound love for his family. He was a graduate of Jumpertown High School, class of 1963 and turned down a basketball scholarship to Milsaps College to join the Air Force. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Jerold served in the 600th Photo Squadron charged with the responsibility of USAF photographic services in Southeast Asia including reconnaissance photography. His commitment to service was a defining aspect of his early years, and it instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. Following his military service, Jerold continued his career in printing. For over 20 years, he worked with World Color, a role that allowed him to channel his creativity and technical skills into a profession he loved. He had a passion for storytelling and delighted in sharing tales, some rooted in reality while others danced in the realm of imagination, captivating his listeners and bringing joy to gatherings. His generosity and unselfish nature were evident to all who knew him. He was a longstanding member of Rienzi Baptist Church, where his faith and dedication made a lasting impact on his community. In his personal life, Jerold found immense joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed riding his tractor, spending time outdoors, and spoiling his grandchildren, who undoubtedly cherished the special moments they shared with their papa. He loved high school basketball, especially watching his granddaughters play. He enjoyed listening to hunting and fishing stories from his grandson Jake, who happened to inherit his Papa's love for storytelling. Jerold's love for his family was unconditional, and he was proud of the legacy he created through them. His stories will continue to resonate, his contributions to community and family will never be forgotten, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. Jerold is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Pauline Rogers Nash; his son, Scott Nash (Melissa) his daughter, Tawnya Cohoon (Brian); his grandchildren, Taylor Beth Floyd (Tilman), Elly Nash, and Jake Nash; his brothers, Randal Nash (Cathy) and Gary Nash (Sue); his sister, Carolyn Nash; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wid and Susie Bullard Nash; and his brothers, Leon “Don” Nash, and Dwayne Nash. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Jerold E. Nash.
