A Celebration of Life service for Janice Smith, 66 of Corinth, MS, will be Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 1:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment to follow at Gentry Chapel Cemetery in Middleton, TN. Rev. Stephen Denton and Rev. Travis Wilbanks will officiate the service. Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2019 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M and Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 12:00 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka, MS. She was born June 7, 1953 in Ripley, MS to Hugh Ford Crum and Dolly Wilbanks Crum. She worked as an assembly line operator at ITT for 28 years. She enjoyed working with her flowers, sitting outside watching the hummingbirds and looking at her roses. She liked to talk and sing for the Lord. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She won two awards at the Country Music Association (NACMAI). Her lst award was the Horizon Album of the Year in 2007 and her 2nd award was Most Promising Female vocalist of the Year in 2007. Both Awards were in Adult Gospel. She was on several local and out of state radio stations and had recorded and made 5 CD's. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandbaby. Janice is survived by her daughter, Dana Maxwell Hancock and husband Kevin Hancock, her granddaughter, Jana Maxwell of Corinth, MS; her daughter, Stephanie Johnson Smith, her grandson, Zack Johnson of Corinth, MS; her two sisters, Marie Robertson of Middleton, TN and Dorothy Moore of New Albany, MS; two brothers, Jimmy Crum (Kay) of Brighton, TN and David Lee Crum (Barbara) of Tuscaloosa, AL; a special cousin, Pam Jones of Walnut, MS; lots of other family and friends that she loved and cared about very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Smith; her parents, Hugh Ford Crum and Dolly Wilbanks Crum; one sister, Gay Patterson; two brothers, J.C. Crum and Rev. Ulyssus (U.H.) Crum and one niece, Janice McKeown Delashmit. Pallbearers will be Ricky Crum, Donnie Crum, Danny Crum, Casey Crum, Jimmy Patterson, Ricky Rowland, and Craig Delashmit. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Janice Smith.
