James A. Yancey

A Celebration of Life service for James A. Yancey, 72 of Corinth, MS, will be Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Bro. Kara Blackard will officiate the service. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, January 17, 2020 from 10:00 AM until service time at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Yancey passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born March 9, 1947 in Alcorn County, MS to James Burl Yancey and Edith Lavern Leonard Yancey. He was a business owner of Yancey Electric, Heating and Air and Circle Y Equestrian Center and was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. James is survived by his wife, Sheryl Yancey of Corinth, MS; his 3 sons, Keith Yancey and wife Vicki of Corinth, MS, Scott Yancey of Corinth, MS and Brad Yancey and wife Carlie of Corinth, MS; 7 grandchildren, Alison Stephenson (Curtis), Brandon Yancey (Alyssa), Dallas Yancey, Ashli Yancey, Seth Yancey, Jake Yancey and Josh Yancey; 1 great grandchild, Rylan Yancey; his brother, Billy Yancey (Annette) of Corinth, MS; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Burl Yancey; his mother, Lavern Leonard Yancey and his sister, Betty Lou Sanders. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, 21 County Road 519, Corinth, MS 38834.
