Funeral Service for James Otis "Jam Up" Roden, 74, are set for 11 am Friday, 4/3/15, at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial at Shiloh CP Church Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 4/2/15, at Magnolia Funeral Home from 5-9 pm and Friday, 4/3/15, from 10 am until service time. Mr. Roden assed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. Born Aug. 16, 1940, he was retired from Quartet and worked as a Security office for Tri State Protection Agency. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include his beloved companion, Mykero; son Ronnie Roden (Angelia) of Selmer, TN; daughters, Dianne Timbes (Chip), Darlene Roden Isbell and Sherry Robbins, all of Corinth; 16 grandchildren, T.J. Gray, Brandon Wilbanks (Trisha), D.J. Hammock (Amy), Steven Glidewell (Jenny), Andy Downs, MeridethStarkey (Michael), Trina Jones (Jason), James Cooper, Jr. (Mallory), Tiffany WElls (Matt), Daniel Roden, Tiffany Hammock, Tera Terry (Ricky), Tasha Spence, Jacob Roden, Dakota Roden and Arthur Timbes; 21 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Austin Roden; a son, Scotty Roden, a daughter, Vicki Pendley; his parents, James EdgarRoden and Odessa Spears Roden; a sister, Edna Mae Shields; his father-in-law, Alvie Jake Austin; and his mother-in-law, Lillie Cornelius Austin. Pallbearers are James Wilbanks, Bill Hamrick, Gerald Austin, Keith Shields, Sam Moody and Darryl Austin. Bro. Harold Burcham will officiate the service.
