James “Jimmy” Elbert Powers, 77, of Burnsville, MS, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Funeral services are set for Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial following at Burnsville Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Gwatney and Bro. Ed. Kennedy will be officiating the service. Visitation will be on Friday, September 23, 2016, from 5:00 pm--8:00 pm and Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers are Mike Colley, Lance Blackstock, Tony Powers, Jr., Jackson Powers, Caleb Powers, Bree Berryman, and Stephen Berryman. Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Powers, Talmadge Powers, and Bryan Powers. Mr. Powers was born on September 29, 1938. He was the owner/operator of J and L Trucking. He also worked as a carpenter, railroad electrician, racecar driver, mechanic and logger. He was an avid fisherman also. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.
