Church: He was a member of Meeks Street Church of Christ. He served in the US National Air Guard for six years, and was a member of Alcorn County Electrical Review Board. He also served on the Alcorn Library Commission, served three terms as the President of Corinth Alcorn County Home Builders Association and served as Building Inspector for the City of Corinth. Jim was one of the founders of Magnolia Funeral Home in Corinth, MS. SURVIVOR INFORMATION His Wife of 49 years: Mary Janalee Keaton Johnson; His Sons: Dr. James Clay Johnson Jr., wife Roan, children Olivia, Julie, Clay, Leah, and Sam of Saltillo, MS. Dr. William Russell Johnson, wife Megan, children Millie Janalee and Smith of Tupelo, MS. His Daughter: Virginia Kathryn Johnson Mansel, husband Jeff, children Will and his wife Elle, Seth and Grace of Corinth, MS.; His Mother: Emily Dean Johnson; His 3 younger brothers, Samuel (Sherry), Fredrick (Dianne), and Paul (Debbie) Johnson; “Third Son”: Kelly Mims, wife Lynn and family; One aunt, Kathleen Pett of Phoenix, AZ; One Sister-in-law, Julie Keaton Farris; As well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
