James Douglas Durm

James Douglas "Doug" Durm passed way Monday, November 9, 2010 at his residence at the age of 89. He was born December 24, 1920, the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Durm of Winchester, TN. Doug was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII who served one year in Hawaii and then in Guam. He moved to Pecos, TX where he started in the office machine business. He worked for Hubb’s Office Supply for 14 years before moving to Corinth, MS to open Durm’s Office Machines in 1963. His first office was located at Duffy Crum’s Barber Shop. He owned and operated Durm’s Office Machines until he retired in 2004. Doug was a long time member of the local Gideon Camp for over 40 years. He served in many capacities for the local and state organization. He was also a long time member of the Rotary Club and Forestry Association. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason. He loved gardening, blue birds and blue grass music. He is survived by his wife: Jeanette Pittman Durm – Corinth, MS Daughter: Harriet Clardy – Corinth, MS 2 Grandsons – Chad Clardy and wife Lena – Iuka, MS; Chris Clardy and wife Mary Anne– Corinth, MS 4 Great Grandchildren 4 Step Children: Joe Pittman and wife Lori – Overland Park , KS; Joy Pittman Perriloux and husband Gary- Baton Rouge, LA; David Pittman and wife Karen – Kingsport, TN; Jim Pittman and wife Kirsten – Conway, ARK 11 Step Grandchildren 3 Step Great Grandchildren Brother: Darwin Durm – Winchester, TN 3 Sisters: Geneva Hulvey, Letha Syler, Retha Ashby and husband Bob all of Winchester, TN Sister-in-law: Oma “Bunt” Durm – Winchester, TN Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and a host of friends Those who welcomed him to heaven were his 1st wife: Willie Mai Durm Parents: Albert and Otsie Hasty Durm Brother: Orville Durm 2 Brothers-in-law: Cecil Hulvey, Carl Syler Sister-In-Law: Odell Durm
