James Thomas "J. T." Blakney

Funeral services for J. T. Blakney, 83 of Glen, MS are set for Monday, June 27, 2022 at 3pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 5pm- 8pm and Monday, June 27, 2022 from 1pm-3pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST. Bro. Edwin Kennedy and Bro. Scotty McCay will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Greg Adams, Eli Adams, Mike Spoon, David Ward, Seth Kennedy and Larry Gene Cornelison. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Kemp, Leroy Brown and Bill Gray. Born August 7, 1938 in Glen, MS. J. T. passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his home. He was of the Christian faith and attended Chapel Hill Methodist Church.  J.T. worked in his younger days at the Burnsville Gin, then he worked on the Tombigbee and at Goat Island as they were digging it out. He retired from APAC. J. T. loved his family and friends and enjoyed wrestling, riding the backroads looking at wildlife, going to Tunica, picking on people and joking around. J. T. is survived by his daughters, Linda Davis (Larry) and Barbara Blakney (Jim Bo); grandson, Cory Davis (Crystal Joslin); his fur grandbabies, Aspen "Doc", Precious, Polar and Cookie; other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Judy Blakney; father, Robert Blakney; mother, Eula Spoon Blakney; brother, R. C. Blakney (Beulah Mae) and sister, Bea Adcock (Tad).
