Hunter Thomas Shaw

A celebration of life for Hunter Thomas Shaw, 19 of Corinth, MS is set for 2:00 PM, Friday, May 7, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday, May 6, 2021 and from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Friday, May 7, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Rev. Steve Smith and Rev. Phillip Marshall will officiate the service. Pallbearers include Dyllan Shaw, Gabriel Shaw, Austin Henry, John Rhodes, Sam Ray, Gabe Harwood, A.J. Carter, and Ricky Comer. Honorary pallbearers include Peyton Key, T.J. Key, and Cayden Leonard. Born October 11, 2001 in Corinth, MS to Shannon Shaw and Cynthia Griffin, Hunter passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Memphis, TN. Hunter was of the Christian faith, a 2020 graduate of Alcorn Central High School, and a member of Perry A. Johns Sons of American Legion Squadron 6 of Corinth. He enjoyed playing football and woodshop at the Vo-Tech Center. He was employed at Caterpillar and had just been made full-time. He was an avid gamer and loved going to the gym. Hunter was a delightful person to be around, and he never met a stranger. He was somewhat of a cut-up. One of his favorite sayings was “guess what?” and when you said “what?” he would respond “chicken butt”. He would snuggle up to you and ask, “what you doin?” Those left to honor Hunters memory include his mom: Cynthia Johnston of Corinth, MS; dad: Jayson Johnston of Corinth, MS; biological father: Shannon Shaw of Michie, TN; brothers: Dyllan Shaw (Mackenzie) of Holts Summit, MO, Taylor Johnston of Corinth, MS and Tyler Johnston of Corinth, MS; newborn niece: Indie Blake Shaw; grandparents: Debra Griffin of Corinth, MS, Carlean Parker of Corinth, MS, Pam Johnston of Corinth, MS, and Bruce and Judy Shaw of Michie, TN; great-grandparents: Bonnie Spears and Herschel Null; special aunts and uncles: Daryl and Michelle Carter, Jeremy and Lindsay Ford, Whitney and Jake Key, and Cindy and Peanut Rhodes; special cousins: Gabriel Shaw, Kaitlyn Shaw, Cadie Hill, Gabe Harwood, John Michael Harwood, A.J. Carter (Macy), Paige Davis (Luke), Peyton Key, and T.J. Key and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother: Brandon Shaw; grandfathers: Rickey Johnston, Billy R. Griffin, Jr., and J.C. Parker; great-grandparents: Mary Null, William Edgar Spears, and Dallis Carl and Earleane Hill.
