Hoyt Strickland

Hyt Strickland passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at his residence at the age of 85. He was born July 5, 1925 to the late Lewis & Mattie Strickland. He was an En Tre Prenuer. He was a farmer, raised cattle and later in life he owned a fruit and vegetable stand in Burnsville. He was Justice of the Peace of Tishomingo County and a 32 degree Mason. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ.He retired after 23 years service from the U.S. Army as Master Sargent. He taught ROTC at White Station in Memphis, Tn. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his Sons: Randy A. Strickland and wife Mary – Burnsville, MS Robert K. Strickland and wife Karen – Burnsville, MS Daughter: Beverly Elizabeth Russo and husband Richard – Burnsville, MS 8 Grandchildren: Kevin Strickland, Sabrina Strickland, Weston Henderson, Logan Strickland, Kaylee Strickland , Elizabeth Strickland, Lucas Russo and Neely Strickland. Brothers: Earl Strickland – Iuka, Ms, Tommy Strickland –Iuka, MS, and Bob Strickland – Smyrna, Tn Sisters: Verlon Calvery – Germantown, TN, Johnnie Bobo – Corinth, MS, Barbara Berryman – Tishomingo, MS and Nelda Cook – Germantown, TN Other Relatives and host of friends Preceded in Death Wife of 58 years: Vowary Elizabeth Strickland Father: Lewis Strickland Mother: Mattie Bell Felker Strickland
