A Joint Celebration of Life Service for Hal "Sonny" and Carolyn Street, of Walnut, MS, will be Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home - East. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 PM till service time. Hal “Sonny” Street passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his residence in Walnut, MS. Mr. Street was born February 9, 1939 in Sommerville, TN to the late Lester and Ailene Street and retired as a safety inspector for OSHA. He served his country as a US Marine and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. He loved fishing, leather work, making saddles, and throwing knives. Sonny is survived by his son, Reeves "Jackie" Street; his daughters, Penny Cryer (John), Destin “Becky” Soloman, and June Jacobs (Brian); 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Street; his daughter, Tammy Boman; his parents, Lester and Ailene Street; his brother, Simpson Street; and his sister, Louise Williams.  

Mrs. Street passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Diversicare of Ripley. Mrs. Street was born February 3, 1939 in Savannah, TN to Hubert Stanford and Lula Martin Stanford. She retired as Director of Nursing at the Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. She loved being a nurse and was a member of Oakland Baptist in Walnut, MS. She enjoyed going to the beach and collecting teapots and owls. She loved making fudge, reading, watching birds and family gatherings. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hal “Sonny” Street; her son, Reeves “Jackie” Street; her daughters, Penne Cryer (John), Destin “Becky” Soloman (Mark) and June Jacobs (Brian); 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; her brother, Ben Stanford (Dianne); other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Boman; her father, Hubert Stanford; her mother, Lula Stanford and her sisters, Jean Williamson and Joan Waddell.
