He attended grade school through 10th grade in Corinth, MS and played center for the Corinth Warrior Football team. At this time, Mr. Ray moved his family to Collierville, TN. Greg joined the Collierville High School Dragons football team, at the positions tackle and linebacker. His junior year, the Dragons went undefeated all the way to TN state playoffs. Also, during his senior year, Greg was selected as a member of the West All-Star team to play against the East All-Star team at UT Knoxville. He was the third Collierville player in two years to play in the studded affair. He was also a member of the All County Team and received “the CHS Best Blocker” award for the season. Greg graduated from Collierville High School in May, 1973. His being such a stand-out athlete caught the attention of scouts from several prominent southern universities. Instead, he chose to play football at Northeast MS Jr. College in Booneville, MS for two years. After two years at Northeast MS Jr. College, Greg chose to return home to work for the family business, Tull Brothers Glass Co. in Collierville, TN. He eventually purchased his daddy’s share of the business when he retired. Soon afterwards, he would marry his high school sweetheart, Verner Carrington. They had 2 girls, Camille and Leigh. Life was pretty normal for Greg over the following years. He served for several years on the Collierville Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Collierville Rotary Club. As the girls got older, he coached their travel softball teams. Due to his passion for football, he returned to both Collierville and Corinth High Schools to volunteer on the ‘Chain Gang” on Friday nights. He also developed a passion for all things outdoors. He loved to play cards, water ski, snow ski, going boating, camping, and hunting, particularly deer and turkey. He and some friends even bought hunting property and formed a hunting club where they spent many years going on weekends hunting the property and playing cards as a past time and forming lifelong friendships. In September 2000, tragedy hit Greg’s life when Verner passed away from complications of skin cancer. A few years later, in 2004 Greg sold his half of Tull Brothers Glass Co. of Collierville to his uncle and returned to Corinth to help take care of his aging parents. He became a member of First Baptist Church and went to work at Tull Brothers Corporate as a glazing superintendent where he supervised the storefront and glass installation on many high profile projects such as the Memphis Air Traffic Control Tower; Joint Air Force Reserve Base Air Traffic Control Tower in New Orleans, renovation work at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and Magnolia Hospital Tower addition just to name a few. Then in 2013, he met the second love of his life, Vickie. They married in October, 2014. Greg decided to retire from the glass business in 2018 after his dad had passed away and him injuring his left shoulder. He and Vickie were enjoying life, traveling and just being together when he started getting sick and was diagnosed with a very rare incurable disease Multiple System Atrophy in July, 2022. He bravely fought the disease with a vengeance until he went into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Tull; his daughters, Camille Vornbrock (Doug) of Holly Springs, and Leigh Tull of Olive Branch; his step children, Wayne Pruitt (Crystal) of Ramer, TN, Charles Pruitt (Rebecca) of Corinth, and Monica Lorick (Matt) of Thaxton; his grandson, Tucker Brunner; his step grandchildren, Weston Pruitt, Camden Pruitt, C.J.
