Bro. Greg Philamlee, 57, of Corinth, MS, passed away to his heavenly reward on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Benton, AR on December 2, 1960 to Bro. James and Betty Caldwell Philamlee. Following graduation from Corinth High School in 1979 and Northeast Mississippi Junior College with an Associate’s Degree in Tool and Die, he married Tammy Essary Philamlee. Bro. Greg surrendered to the call of ministry on March 17, 1996. After serving as Associate Pastor to the youth at Pinecrest Baptist Church, Corinth, he pastored Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Iuka, MS and New Union Baptist Church in Red Bay, AL. He was currently serving as a supply speaker for area churches and was employed at Caterpillar. His avid love for sports led him to coach fast pitch softball for Vina High School and little league softball, soccer and basketball. He loved camping with his family and friends and spent hours boating, fishing, and riding his jet ski. Bro. Greg will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for 5 - 8 pm, Monday, March 19, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home and from 12 Noon until service time, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Pinecrest Baptist Church in Corinth. A celebration of Bro. Greg's life and achievements will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Pinecrest Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Terrell Gatewood. Jerry Bonds will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Johnathan Cutshall, Jeff Underwood, Ben Putt, Jim Roy Colston, Trey Riley, Joey Carter, and Jonathon Rogers. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. To carry on his memory, he leaves behind his wife of 37 years: Tammy Philamlee of Corinth; his daughter: Tage Joy Philamlee of Corinth; his parents: James and Betty Caldwell Philamlee of Starkville, MS; his maternal grandfather: Headlee Caldwell of Benton, AR; his in-laws: James and Norma Essary of Corinth; his brother: Jimmy Philamlee and wife Joyce of Jonesboro, AR; his nieces: Whitney Philamlee of Little Rock, AR, Amy Flores of Tampa, FL, and Emily Philamlee of Jonesboro, AR; other relatives and a host of friends. He was greeted in Heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; his maternal grandmother: Wilma Caldwell; and his paternal grandparents: Frank and Lura Philamlee.
