A Celebration of Life Service for Graple Imojean (Jean) Kennedy, 85 of Corinth, MS, will be Friday, August 19, 2022 at 2:00 P M at Tate Baptist Church in Corinth, MS with interment to follow at Magnolia Gardens. Bro. Mickey Trammel and Bro. Eddie Martin will officiate the service with Sherri Kennedy Shadburn delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be Friday, August 19, 2022 from 1:00 P M until service time at Tate Baptist Church. Graple (Jean) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world August 16, 2022 at her residence. She was born to Thurman and Ader Wilbanks on May 15, 1937. She met the love of her life, Thomas Kennedy, at age 16 and they were married on October 31, 1953. Together they had 66 wonderful years of marriage. Graple (Jean) loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved creating delicious meals and dishes. She was well known for making biscuits every morning. She would often whip up a batch of banana nut muffins and share with friends and family. She also loved to work outside; whether it was mowing on her John Deere mower or digging around in her flowers. She was a Bible believing Christian who enjoyed her Sunday School Class and all her friends at Tate Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Sherri Kennedy Shadburn (husband Randy) of Corinth, MS; two grandchildren, Russell Shadburn (wife Brooke) of Corinth, MS and Anna Shadburn Dozier (husband Ben) of Nashville, TN; three great grandchildren, Mason Shadburn, Eli Shadburn , and Rhett Shadburn all of Corinth, MS; two brothers, Clovis Wilbanks (wife Maria) of Minooka, Illinois and Jerry Wilbanks of Savannah, TN; one sister, Canada Burns of Corinth, MS. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Two special friends who are like her own children, Pam Wren of Corinth, MS and Aaron Parsons of Iuka, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman Charles Wilbanks and Ader Lee Sanders Wilbanks; sisters, Naomi Wilbanks Isbell and Lavada Wilbanks Hamm. However, her greatest loss was her beloved husband, Thomas Charles Kennedy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tate Baptist Church Building Fund. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Graple Imojean (Jean) Kennedy.
