Gevene Tisdale

Vivian Gevene Tisdale, 83, of Walnut, MS passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Waycross, GA on October 3, 1933 to the late Chester and Alma Ellis Elliott. Gevene was a homemaker and member of Jesus Name Community Church in Walnut and Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Mesquite, TX. Visitation is scheduled for 5-6:30 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Jesus Name Community Church in Walnut, MS. A celebration of Gevene's life will be held at 6:30 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Jesus Name Community Church officiated by Bro. Gary Porterfield and Bro. Corey Porterfield. Interment will follow in Bonifay, FL. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Gevene's memory include her sons: Paul Tisdale and wife Rebekah of McKinney, TX, Rev. Ralph Tisdale and wife Karen of Parkersburg, WV, and Rev. Robert Tisdale and wife Deborah of Sunnyvale, TX; her daughter: Rebecca Tisdale Nooner and husband Ray of Walnut, MS; nine grandchildren: Tara Forgie and husband Andrew, Sara Sparhawk and husband Dustin, Caleb Tisdale and wife Bailey, Joseph Tisdale, Marissa Killough and husband Josh, Alyssa Nooner, Karissa Nooner, Rylee Tisdale and Roman Tisdale; four great-grandchildren; her brother: William Nelson Elliott of VA; other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years: Benjamin Lamar Tisdale and her brother: Chester Arthur Elliott.
