A Celebration of Life Service for Gerald Wood, 78, of Corinth, MS will be Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11AM at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel officiated by Bro. Keith Driskell. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Heath Thomas, Shane Smith, Mark Moore, Todd South, Rickey Jackson, and Chris Moore. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 5-9PM at Magnolia Funeral Home - East. Gerald was born in Corinth, MS on June 12, 1945 to the late Vergil and Mary Belle Wood, graduated Alcorn Central High School in 1964, and passed away at his residence on April 7, 2024. Gerald lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others. He dedicated 30 years of his life to the Kansas City Southern Railroad before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment shone through in all aspects of his career. Geralds accomplishments included his role as a Deacon at Farmington Baptist Church where Gerald truly left an indelible mark and also his role as a founding member of the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department. He selflessly served his community through faith and compassion. Aside from his professional and religious pursuits, Gerald found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid rabbit hunter, he found solace in nature's beauty and the thrill of the chase. Those who knew him best will forever remember his love for good food; he truly appreciated a delicious meal and the joy of sharing it with loved ones. His willingness to lend a helping hand and his courageous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Survivors include his sons, Craig Wood, and Tracy Wood; his daughters, Lisa Jenkins (Larry), Sherry Rogers, and Stacy Hunt; his grandchildren, Tiffany Mills, Cody Jenkins (Ashley), Paige McCann, and Tyler Rogers (Harleigh); his great grandchildren, Noah Bain, Greyson Mills, Fisher McCann, Maverick Mills, James Henry Jenkins, Autumn Jenkins, Miller Haynes, and one great granddaughter on the way; his brother, Ronald Wood (Lori); other relatives and many friends.
