George White passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 in Iuka, MS at the age of 89. He was born April 21, 1921 to the late W.R. & Ethel Rowsey White in Alcorn County, MS. He was retired from Alcorn County Electric Company with over 30 years of service. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran having served under General George Patton in The Battle of the Bulge. During the great depression he worked with the CCC to build The Tishomingo State Park. Mr. White was a member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. He was a Mason, A Shriner, A member of the Scottish Rite and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a devoted husband, father and brother. He loved Bluegrass music and watching the History channel. His favorite saying was “The thing about it is.”
He is survived by his Son: Lee R. Ward, Sr. & wife Angelet – Burnsville, MS; his Daughter: Debra L. Milligan & husband Mac – Iuka, MS; Grandchildren (5): Lee R. Ward Jr., Cindy Rorie, Perry L. Ward, C. Christopher Bullock, Casey L. Bullock; Great Grandchildren (8): Katilyn Roach, Jacinda Rorie, Clair Rorie, Minnie Rorie, Chance Ward, Destinee Ward, Brett Ward, Morgan Floyd Bullock; and Sisters: Christine White – Corinth, MS; Lona Crewes – Atlanta, GA; Other Relatives and a host of friends
