Geneva Farris Wegman of Corinth, Miss, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was 91.
Geneva was born October 17, 1929 in Guys, Tenn to the late Horace and Celia Poindexter Farris. She made the most of her time on earth and left an impression on all she met. She will be remembered for her quick sense of humor, lively personality and seemingly endless energy.
For more than 20 years Geneva worked as a line operator for ITT. She also sold Home Interiors and Gifts for many years. She loved gardening and spent many hours working in her lawn and flower beds. She also loved a good bargain, and over the years hosted numerous yard sales. She had a soft spot for her animals, especially her cats Bootsie and Calico who brought her great joy and comfort.
Cooking was one of Geneva’s many talents, and you never left her table hungry. Desserts were her specialty. Those fortunate enough to have sampled her coconut meringue pie would most likely agree it was one of the very best.
In her spare time, she enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. And she always loved a good laugh.
She adored her two daughters, as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the Lord, and her family finds comfort that Geneva is now reunited with loved ones in Heaven.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (James Ray) Cummings of Michie, TN; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Sunny) Grimes, Chad (Ashley) Grimes, Ginger (Jason) Cox, Cassie (Jonathan) Overstreet, Andy (Ginger) Rowsey, Danica Rowsey, and Daniel (Misty) Rowsey; 18 great-grandchildren, Jon Tyler and Ava Grimes, Kaleigh and Jon Gage Grimes, Maggie and Drew Nunley, Katie and Jaycee Cox, Jon Garrett and Luke Overstreet, Mandy, Andrew, Leura and Eppie Rowsey, Cooper Moore, Dylan, Drew and Mia Rowsey.
She is also survived by a brother, Bobby (Betty) Farris, a sister, Emma Newcomb, son-in-law Danny Rowsey, nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wegman, her parents, Horace and Celia Farris, her daughter, Diane Rowsey, and sisters, Earline Maples and Gene Whitehurst.
