Funeral services for Gene Irvin Thorne, 50 of Glen, MS is set for Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00am at Magnolia Funeral Home with interment to follow in Snowdown Methodist Church Cemetery in Iuka. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5:00pm-8:00pm and Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 10:00am until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Born April 4, 1968 in Corinth, MS, Gene passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Corinth, MS. He was a farmer and mechanic and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. Gene loved his family and friends and enjoyed listening to music, spending time with his brother, riding the back roads and working on cars. He is survived by his companion of 12 years: Angie Payne of Corinth, MS; sons: Ryan Thorne of Corinth, Jase Payne of Corinth and Gavin Fullwood of Corinth; daughters: Malorie Thorne of Memphis, TN and Emily Amerson of Iuka, MS; 1 grandchild: Ayden Thorne; brothers: Wayne Thorne and wife Arlene of Iuka, MS and Sammy Thorne of Corinth; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Gene is preceded in death by his father, Spencer D. Thorne; mother, Reba Holder Thorne and his brother, Toney Thorne. Pallbearers will be David Gray, William Skinner, Bruce Glidewell, Gavin Fullwood, Mooney Brewer, J. J. Glidewell and Mark Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Jase Payne. Bro.
