It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Morris Harden, Sr., 82, of Jacinto, Mississippi, on March 27, 2025. Gary was born September 3, 1942, in Fulton, Mississippi, to Ermon and Viola Williams Harden. A memorial visitation service will be held at Magnolia Funeral Home East in Corinth, Mississippi on April 1, 2025 from 12:00pm-2:00pm.

Gary served as a Director on the Jacinto Foundation Board, where he supported initiatives that enriched the local community. His commitment extended to the Jacinto Volunteer Fire Department, where his contributions helped ensure safety and preparedness for all. He was also a passionate advocate for the community park and assisted with Jacinto’s annual 4th of July festival, bringing joy and togetherness to the community.

For over 15 years, Gary led the men’s prayer breakfast at the Jacinto Baptist Church, fostering spiritual growth and unity among its members.

As an avid outdoorsman, Gary spent many years as a member of the James Creek Hunting Club. He cherished the camaraderie and shared a profound love of nature with friends and family. He especially enjoyed spending time on his porch with his beloved wife and their dogs. His passion for landscaping was evident in every corner of his property, where his green thumb transformed ordinary spaces into breathtaking gardens that delighted neighbors and passersby alike.

Gary proudly worked for FL Crane and Sons, Inc. for over 50 years, serving in various roles during his tenure there. He also drove for several car dealerships in the North Mississippi area after retirement.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Maxine; his children Gary Morris Harden, Jr., (Cheryl) of Panama City, FL; daughter Scharlotte Harden Bowles (Howard) of Senoia, GA; and step-daughter Janet (Tim) Pearson of Jacinto, MS; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sisters Lynn Harden Waddle of Marietta and Debbie Harden Abbott of Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Danny and Keith Harden, sister Teresa Whitt, bothers-in-law Mike Waddle and Jacky Abbott, and daughter Dennissia Harden Barnes.

His legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
