A Celebration of Life Service for Garland E. Burns, 89 of Corinth, MS, is set for Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment to follow at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Charlie Browning will officiate the service. Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 P M and Friday, January 26, 2018 from 12:00 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mr. Burns passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his residence in Corinth, MS. He attended Tobes Chapel Pentecostal Church and retired as Supervisor in the Calendar Department at Intex Plastics Corp with 20 years of service. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Garland is survived by wife Nancy Maxine Burns of Corinth, MS; his son, Eddie Garland Burns (Mallory) of Corinth, MS; his daughters, Lisa Burns Harvell of Corinth, MS and Angie Burns Russell and husband Danny of Corinth, MS; his step-son, Alan Garrison and wife Leah of Corinth, MS; his step-daughters, Cynthia Rene Pastell of Waukegan, IL and Lisa Michelle Rohr of Kenosha, WI; his 7 grandchildren, Randle Harvell and wife Jennifer, Dana Lewis and husband Tom, Chris Harvell and wife Alyson, Christy Gant (Jason Parker), Stephanie Williams and husband Jason, Megan Burns (Mark Lewellen) and Morgan Burns (Cameron Aultman); his 12 great-grandchildren, Cade Harvell, Kyler Harvell, Wes Haynes, Lily Haynes, Hailey Troxell, Allie Troxell, Logan Williams, Anna Kate Williams, Ella Kate Harvell, Everly Karoline Harvell, Grayson Lewellen and Reagan Lewellen; his 9 step-grandchildren, Alan C. "A. J." Garrison, Eric Garrison, John Sparks, Shadow Sparks, Tara Garrison, Phillip Bivens, Amber Hall, Sean Hall and Keith Barnes; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Taylor Burns; his mother, Bessie Maude Johnson Burns; his first wife and mother of his children, Geraldine Rogers Burns; his son-in-law: Jackie Harvell; his brothers, Cecil Burns, G. B. Burns and wife Myrtle, Chester Burns and Harold Burns and sisters, Ethel Godwin and Dora Burns; special sister, Bertha Benjamin and husband A. J.
