Biographical Information Date of Birth: September 5, 1927 Employment/Occupation: He started working at the Lion Station in downtown Corinth for his brother-in-law, James Green and Elmer Green. Then he went to work driving a gas truck for Pure Oil. He then went to work at Litco Petroleum as a gas truck driver until his retirement in the late 1990’s. Church Affiliation: He was a member of Jericho Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Navy Seaman 2C veteran of WWII. Fred loved talking on the CB radio and his CB handle was “Peg Leg”. He helped with the sound for Buddy and Kay Bain at the Hayloft Frolic in Corinth and was best known as “John Googinhammer”. His passion was country and bluegrass music and in his later years he loved going to Music Country “Hoot-n-Nannie” at Alpine, MS. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Fred Hudson knew the Lord – the Lord knew Fred Hudson and now he is home with the Lord. Mr. Hudson was a former member, deacon, chairman of the deacons, church treasure and on the pulpit committee of Oakland Baptist Church.
