Evone M. Lancaster
CORINTH- Gola Evone Miller Lancaster, 88, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012.
Evone was born in Prentiss County, Mississippi on February 22, 1924. She married the late Guy Lancaster in September 1945 and together they raised two daughters. Evone was a retired manufacturing worker and a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Locally famous for her homemade biscuits, she enjoyed cooking, decorating, and antiquing. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.
She leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving daughter, Janice Shadburn of Southhaven, Mississppi; adoring granddaughters, Clarissa and her husband Scotty Mills of Kossuth, Mississippi and Courtney and her husband Brett Bilbrey of Little Rock, Arkansas; dear great grandchildren, Carleigh Mills, Kenner Mills, and Branum Bilbrey; son-in-law Gerald and his wife Marcia Wegman of Corinth, Mississippi, and his children Tom Wegman and Casey Wegman Dunn; family friend, Billie Wegman.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 50 years, Guy F. Lancaster in 1996; her beloved daughter, Barbara L. Wegman in 1971; and first husband, Bennie Brooks. Three brothers: Denzel Miller, Verell Miller, Brian Miller, and two sisters: Vernell Gurley and Marine Eaton.
Friends and relatives are invited to Magnolia Funeral Home for services. Visitation will Monday, November 12, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and Tuesday, November 13, from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Shane Evetts officiating. Burial will follow in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Mills, Brett Bilbrey, Gerald Wegman, Tom Wegman, Brett Benjamin, and Jerry Talley.
