Emily Dean Johnson, 94, of Corinth passed from this life into eternity on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Country Cottage in Corinth, MS. She was born December 16, 1922, to the late Samuel Richard Dean, Sr. and Ruby Meeks Dean. “Munu” as she was affectionately called, raised five boys before founding Vitality Health Foods in 1969, which she owned and operated for 35 years. She was a faithful member of Meeks Street Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed being with her family, playing the piano, working crossword puzzles and bowling with the Vitality Gals. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2017 from 2pm-4pm at Magnolia Funeral Home. A Celebration of Emily’s life will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 4pm at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Sam Johnson (Sherry), Fred Johnson( Dianne) and Paul Johnson ( Debbie) all of Corinth; daughters-in-law, Joan Johnson of Woodstock, Georgia and Jan Johnson of Corinth; sister-in-law, Kathleen Pett of Scottsdale, Arizona; 16 grandchildren, Karen Isbell, Warren Johnson (Holly), Katy Johnson, Jimmy Johnson (Roan), Jenny Mansel, Russ Johnson (Megan), Stacee Jobe (Mark), Stephanie Briggs (Russell), Season Ward (Ryan), Sarah Johnson, Freddie Johnson, Mackenzie Whittemore, Becky Witt (Phil), Cristy Boggs (Showny), Leanna Johnsey (Joe) and Emily Anne Noble (Jeremy); 31 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her friends and caregivers at Country Cottage, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Johnson; sons, Warren Johnson and Jim Johnson; a sister, Fadra Dodd; and brothers, John Thomas Dean, Claude Taylor Dean and Samuel Richard Dean, Jr. Charlie Browning and Minister Jim Allen will officiate the service. Emily’s grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
