Funeral services for Elder George Cecil Woodruff, 93, of Corinth are set for Monday, March 10, 2025 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - East with interment in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 10, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST. Elder Gary Cortis, Bro. Blake McCain and Elder Steven Leggett will officiate the service with Steven Woodruff delivering the family comments. Pallbearers will be Steven Woodruff, Joe Moore, Bro. Blake McCain, Andrew Simmons, William Woodruff and his nephews, Michael Rinehart, Marlin Rinehart and Jackie Hugh Woodruff. Born September 13, 1931 in the Glen area, to Modena and Wister Woodruff. Elder Cecil Woodruff passed from this world to his heavenly home on March 7, 2025 at his home.
Cecil met Willa Dean Bobo while still in high school and after his service in the U. S. Army they married on April 14, 1952. They were deeply devoted to each other and were blessed with three children.
Elder Woodruff was ordained into the ministry in 1970. He served numerous Primitive Baptist Churches during his life in MS, AL. TN and MO. He always served faithfully his home church in Corinth, MS., Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. He was bi-vocational from the time he was ordained. George, as he was known in the shop, was a gifted draftsman and tool and die maker, before his retirement he owned Woodruff Machine and Design.
Elder Cecil is survived by his wife of 73 years, Willa Dean Bobo Woodruff, sons, Jerone Woodruff (Barbara) and Eric Woodruff (Katherine); daughter, Melissa Rinehart (Keith); grandchildren, Steven Woodruff (Jennifer), Stephanie Moore (Joe), Cassandra Felks (Brandon), Brittany McCain (Bro. Blake), Anna Kathryn Simmons (Andrew) and William Woodruff; several great grandchildren; a very special nurse, Carrie Motter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings, Lillian Childers, Homer Ray Woodruff, Leon Emerson, Rosco Woodruff, Jack Woodruff, Dorothy Oakley, Jean Blassingame, Fay Brown and Lousie Bain; his mother and father-in-law, Samuel and Melinda Bobo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, 256 CR 335, Rienzi, MS 38865 or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Elder George Cecil Woodruff.
