Edward "Ed" Hinton

Edward “Ed” Elijah Hinton, age 75, born in Corinth, MS, passed away November 1, 2022 at Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Magnolia Funeral home – East Chapel Magnolia Funeral Home 2024 US-72 Corinth, MS.   Trent Nethery will officiate the service.  Visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1:00pm until time of service at Magnolia Funeral home – East Chapel. Graveside prayer to follow at Holly Cemetery.  

Ed grew up on the family farm in Wenasoga (Sogie) MS, and moved to Memphis in his 20’s where he owned a landscaping company and completed schooling to became a valued Heavy Equipment Mechanic with Memphis Light Gas and Water, retiring after 28 years. Riding with Ed in his 1974 truck “Big Red” meant you were in for a hard day of work because he went above and beyond with any task to help and serve. Ed was known in his community for selling seasonal pumpkins in his front yard or for creating patriotic firework displays.  He never met a stranger and was always there to help a person in need, staying true to his faith of service in God. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father Grandville E. Hinton, mother Maxine Baker Hinton, nephew Michael R. Hinton and great-niece Zoey Short. He is survived by his two daughter’s Charm Fuel (Clint) of West Columbia, SC and Jenne’ Green (Greg) of Hernando, MS. Five grandchildren: Tristan Green, Casey Fuel, Chloe Fuel, Madison Green, and Carly Fuel. He leaves behind three brothers: Otis Hinton (Ann) of Walnut, MS, Frank Hinton of Murray, KY, Ray Hinton (Lynn) of Corinth, MS. One sister: Wanza Benson of Milan, TN. Six Nieces: Faith Walker, Hope Cooper, Julie Mitchell, Charity Busby, Brandy Benson, Hannah Hinton.  Four nephews: Danny Hinton, Timothy Hinton, Matthew Hinton, Grant Hinton. Twenty-Seven Great Nieces/Nephews. Seven Great-Great Nieces/Nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  Pallbearers: Danny Hinton, Timothy Hinton, Matthew Hinton, Grant Hinton, Dallas Benson, Landen Busby. Honorary: Tristan Green, and Cole Cooper.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Edward “Ed” Hinton.
