Born on January 18, 1938, Edith Andrews Jones went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Her funeral will be held at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, at 11p.m. on Saturday, January 18. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Rev. James Lewis will officiate the service.
Edith was a longtime member of Tate Baptist Church where she was a tireless worker in the youth activities, Sunday School teacher, and worked in the church office. After many years working for the railroad, she retired and went into the real estate business. She loved traveling and she and her husband visited most states in North America and Canada. Another love of hers was flowers and she became well versed in the upkeep and maintaining the flowers in her yard and was able to help others with theirs at their request.
One of her greatest joys in her later life was meeting each Wednesday for a friendly, but competitive game of bridge.
Edith enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Ole Miss Rebels. She loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their sports and other activities.
Preceding her in death was her husband James Buford Jones; her son James Christopher Jones; her daughter Sherry Kaye Jones; her parents Lawrence Malcolm (Shorty) Andrews and Mattie Lillian Gray Andrews; brothers Teddy Dwain Andrews and Judd Terry Andrews; and great grandson Jaxon Reed Sesma.
Survivors include her grandchildren; Christopher Andrew Jones and his wife Lacie of Olive Branch, MS; granddaughter Brittany Jones Sesma and husband Jacob of Corinth; great grandchildren Dani Kate Sesma, Decker Sesma, Ramsey Jones, and Ridge Jones; her brothers John Andrews (Glenda) of Corinth; Gary Andrews (Linda) of Yazoo City; Ronnie Andrews (Donna) of Kossuth; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Edith was a very fun-loving person, and her beautiful and radiant smile drew others close to her. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a positive Christian influence on those around her. Her friendliness and outreach to others will be sorely missed.
