Dora Mae Whirley

Dora Mae Hale Whirley, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Whitfield Nursing Home, Corinth, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, with burial to follow at Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Rev. Merl Dixon will officiate the service. Mrs. Whirley was a seamstress for 40 years at Weavers Pants Factory. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and was a member of Greater Life Pentecostal Church. She is survived by her son, James Lee Faulkner (Felecia) of Southhaven, MS; daughter, Brenda Wood (Gary) of Corinth; 8 Grandchildren: Tim Faulkner, Tina Rummel (Melvin), Stacy Faulkner, Steven Faulkner, Emily Warren (Brian), Jamie Lynne Faulkner, Darrell Johnson (Ashley) and B.J. Cougle (Jennifer); and nine Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Faulkner; second husband, Sherman Whirley; daughter, Maxine Johnson; Granddaughter, Jessica Lee Faulkner, father, Edward Hinkle Hale; mother, Maydell Davis Hale; brothers, George Franklin Hale, John Art Hale, and Edward Leon Hale; and sisters, Mildred Jean Faulkner and Louise Stevens Sisk.
