Donald Wayne Dowdy

A Celebration of Life Service for Donald Wayne Dowdy, 61 of Walnut is set for Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:00pm at Christ Temple Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Walnut with burial at Community Pentecostal Church in Walnut. . Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 5 pm until service time on Wednesday at 2pm. Mr. Dowdy passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 23, 2017. He was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church. He was a man of many trades. Donald was involved in the community and loved helping others. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Becky Dowdy of Walnut; daughters, Christina Hopkins and husband Rickey of Pontotoc and Amy McKee and husband Barry of Walnut; son, Cody Hodum and wife Ashley of Walnut; seven grandchildren, Wesley Swan, Rickey W. Hopkins, Anthony Hopkins, Lane McKee, Lana McKee, Tucker Hodum and Parker Hodum; sisters-in-law, Linda Dearman and husband Walter of Corinth and Patsy McMillan of Walnut; brother-in-law, Johnny Hugh Wilbanks and wife Rita of Walnut; special aunt, Charlene Fuller of Walnut; nephew Lewis Ross; other nephews, nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. Donald is preceded in death by his mother, Helen King and his father, J. W. King. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rev. Clay Hall, Rev. J. C. Hall, Rev. Jimmy Rich, Rev. Wayne Flake and Rev. Gary Porterfield will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Thomas Mills, John Kirk, James Kirk, Jerry Luna, Danny Hodum and Danny Morris.
