Don Modlin

A Celebration of Life service for Don Modlin, 86 of Corinth, MS, will be Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Jacob's Chapel Cemetery in Ripley, MS.  Bro. Floyd Lamb will officiate the service with David Modlin delivering the eulogy.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East.  Mr. Modlin passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at his residence.  He was born July 19, 1937 in Lauderdale County, MS to Guy Modlin and Rosa Hargis Modlin.  He retired as an electrician and refrigeration maintenance worker and was a member of North Corinth Baptist Church.  Don served his country in the U S Army Reserve.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Dallas Cowboy football.  He loved having cookouts with his family.  Don is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bertha O’Leary Modlin; his sons, Jeff Modlin (Janie), Dennis Modlin, Neal Modlin (Rhonda), David Modlin (Jamie), Terry Modlin (Kelley), Brian Modlin and Nathan Modlin; his daughters, Donna Oliver, Kelly Bohne, Tracy Stanfield and Katie Modlin; 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, his brother, Franklin Holmes; his sister, Leverne Modlin; 2 nieces, Deborah Judd and Diana Miller; other relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Modlin and his mother Rosa Hargis Modlin.  Pallbearers will be Dennis Modlin, Jeff Modlin, Dustin Modlin, Neal Modlin, Brian Modlin and Matt Johnson.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Don Modlin.
